Tea has been consumed for more than 5,000 years and still fits perfectly into today's healthy, active lifefstyles. Caffeine free tea is an excellent hydrator, a refreshing morning wake-up and an end of the day soother. A hot cup of tea helps take the stress out of our busy lives, a cold glass of iced tea can be a cooling refreshment on a hot summer's day.
DIRECTIONS FOR PREPARING TEA Each tea bag can yield 1 to 3 cups of tea (depending upon strength desired). Aspalathus linearis is an herb and therefore must be properly brewed (not suitable for the microwave or for sun tea). Per cup of tea: Place tea bag in cup or tea pot - add boiling water - allow to infuse. For a second cup, simply add more boiling water.
For use in drip coffee makers: Place 2 or more tea bags in the coffee carafe (not in the basket) - add desired amount of water - allow to infuse for five minutes or more.
Maximum strength: Place tea bags in teapot - add desired amount of cold water. Bring to a boil and remove from heat - allow to infuse for a few minutes.
BOTH RED AND GREEN TEA CAN BE SEREVED HOT OR COLD - (Best served cold when brewed to maximum strength. Aspalathus linearis may be placed in the refrigerator to cool and will retain it's clarity and flavour.)
Make delicious iced tea by using cold tea with sugar or honey and lemon.
Dilute powder or frozen cold drink concentrates with cold tea instead of water.
Brew your own herbal tea by adding cinnamon or other fresh herbs.
